Bloch-Elkouby Lab for Suicide Prevention and Psychotherapy Research

Angela is a 2nd year graduate student in the Clinical Psychology program at Teachers College, Columbia University. She received her B.S. in Developmental Psychology and Economics from the University of Minnesota. Her research interests focus on the cognitive and affective processes underlying suicidal crises, particularly how disruptions in future-oriented thinking contribute to shifts in suicide risk. Her current work examines the interaction between future thinking and rumination in suicidal ideation. She is also interested in how individual differences in mindset influence emotional flexibility and resilience, particularly in populations at higher risk for PTSD and anxiety disorders.
